Blood oranges are one of my all-time favorite foods. Since they are only in season for such a short time, I tend to go overboard on these delicious, sweet fruits for as long as I can. Slicing into these little gems is satisfying on so many levels. Sometimes you get a gradient mix of orange and crimson red and other times the stars are aligned, and you’re treated to unexpected shades of deep plum and ruby red.  The bonus is the Vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber they provide in each serving.
