For every season of the year, I always keep a special emergency bag stored in my car to suit whatever specific needs might arise during that time of the year. For this summer it will include my favorite oversized beach towel from Society 6 with beautifully designed aqua and gold crab prints on the front. The fabric is soft, super-absorbent and has the perfect thickness without being too bulky.

Also packed away will be my favorite Sun Bum Original SPF 50 sunblock for the beach, in both lotion and spray forms. The finish is ultra-sheer with a dry touch and boasts a soft, lingering coconut scent. Their lip balm with SPF30 is also my go-to for preventing sun damage on and round the mouth. It is essential to apply sunblock the right way to reap the protective benefits, so remember to apply it thirty minutes before sun exposure and don’t forget to reapply throughout the day.

Artfully sewn bucket hats from Wenzjewelry are the perfect chic accessories for the sunny seasons. My favorite is my bold navy and white chevron hat, but the designer boats a vast collection of spring/summer patterns to choose from, including Liberty of London prints.

Reading is a big summer pastime for me, so when it’s finally time to decompress I dig into suspenseful thrillers with strong women protagonists. I recently discovered books by author Blake Pierce. Check out the Jessie Hunt, Kate Wise, or Riley Paige series.
